Arquebus
The Arquebus was a primitive type of firearm used in the 15th to 17th centuries. Like the musket it is a smoothbore firearm although somewhat smaller and uses a matchlock[?] as its firing mechanism.There is a mention of it in the Gilbert and Sullivan operetta The Yeomen of the Guard.
