Borlänge is a municipality in central Sweden, in the county of Dalarna. The municipality covers an area of 586.4 km². Of the total population of 47206, 23675 are male, and 23531 are female. The population density of the community is 81 inhabitants per km².

Borlänge has a high crime rate and the famous Swedish tenor Jussi Björling was born in Borlänge.
