Burt LancasterBurton Stephen Lancaster (November 2, 1913 - October 20, 1994) was an American actor born in New York City. Before he started his acting career, he was an acrobat. Awarded an Academy Award in 1960 for his most famous performance, in the title role in Elmer Gantry. The actor got his tough persona from a clean, strong jawline, earning him the sobriquet of Burt "Granite-jaw" Lancaster. Burt Lancaster died in 1994 and was interred in the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Westwood, California.
