Citrus Park is a town located in Hillsborough County, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 20,226.
Geography
Citrus Park is located at 28°4'15" North, 82°33'30" West (28.070769, -82.558275)1.According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 28.2 km² (10.9 mi²). 27.4 km² (10.6 mi²) of it is land and 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.94% water.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 20,226 people, 7,070 households, and 5,542 families residing in the town. The population density is 738.8/km² (1,913.1/mi²). There are 7,607 housing units at an average density of 277.9/km² (719.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 81.50% White, 7.57% African American, 0.35% Native American, 3.18% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 4.59% from other races, and 2.73% from two or more races. 20.26% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.There are 7,070 households out of which 43.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.8% are married couples living together, 11.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 21.6% are non-families. 15.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 3.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.85 and the average family size is 3.18.
