Columbia City is a city located in Whitley County, Indiana. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 7,077. The city is the county seat of Whitley County6.

Columbia City is located at 41°9'31" North, 85°29'16" West (41.158569, -85.487784)1.According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 13.5 km² (5.2 mi²). 13.5 km² (5.2 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 7,077 people, 3,018 households, and 1,874 families residing in the city. The population density is 524.5/km² (1,359.5/mi²). There are 3,191 housing units at an average density of 236.5/km² (613.0/mi²).
