The Ring is a 2002 American motion picture that is a remake of a Japanese horror film, Ringu. The story concerns a videotape of possibly supernatural origin which causes people to die grotesquely seven days after they watch it. It was produced by DreamWorks pictures.

It stars Naomi Watts[?] and Martin Henderson[?] and is directed by Gore Verbinski[?].

Elements of The Ring are also reminiscent of David Cronenberg's Videodrome[?].
