The University of California, Davis is one of the ten University of California campuses. It is located in Davis, California, about fifteen miles west of Sacramento, in California's Central Valley. It was originally founded in 1908 as the University Farm, becoming a completely separate campus in 1959. With a main campus acreage of 5,200 acres, UC Davis has the largest physical campus size of any of the UC campuses.

UC Davis offers 110 undergraduate majors and 10 graduate programs, and as of Fall 2002 had a total student enrollment of 29,087 with over 147,000 degreed alumni. Best known for its world-renown School of Veterinary Medicine, UC Davis has four other professional schools: a business school[?], a school of education[?], law school, and a medical school[?]. Because of its roots as the University Farm, UC Davis is also famous for its agriculture, viticulture[?] and veterinarian programs.
